Who are we?

Formed in 1895, The Clayton Penistone Group are a UK based company, specialising in mechanical, electrical and control engineering in the water and power industry.

The Clayton Penistone Group is based on the edge of Penistone, South Yorkshire and is ideally situated for easy access to the M1, M62 and trans-Pennine routes. This allows us to provide a high level of cover throughout the UK. This site provides an insight into our company’s many activities which have been derived from providing over one hundred years of quality service; a history of which we are very proud and keen to maintain. We are also proud to have remained as a private company and whilst the majority of the shares are held by today’s Directors, some are still owned by the descendants of Herbert Fitzroy Clayton, who founded our company in 1895.

Whilst our origins date back to Victorian times, we have developed our skills and resources, and today employ the latest state of the art technology in both managing our contracts and in the type of services we provide.

In order to ensure that the quality of our service is never compromised by growth, we have formed three wholly owned subsidiary companies, Clayton Project Engineering Limited, Clayton M&E Services Limited and Clayton iwt Limited.

Our company is constantly in a state of growth and our range of services are being reviewed and expanded regularly.
